Obituary

Aubrey Emmitt Fallin, age 83, of Douglas GA passed away in Macon at the Heartland Hospice House. Mr. Fallin a native of Thomas County, GA was born August 23, 1925;
he is the son of the late Pat & Lota Mae White Fallin & the widower of Velma Elizabeth Tryan Fallin. He was a WWII Veteran of the USMC; he participated in action in Iwo Jima & the Occupation of Japan. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Coffee County Board of Registrars, The American Legion & Veterans of Foreign War, Past Chairman of The Coffee county Republican Party, Former President of Douglas Hobos & Shriner Clowns. A member of the Masons & Shriners; he was past president of the Exchange Club. Survivors include: Linda Whipple, Macon GA, Sons, Kenneth A. Fallin, New York NY & Ted Fallin & Wife, Shirley, Hamilton AL, Brothers, William P. Fallin, Stuart FL, Joe D. Fallin, Thomasville GA, Grandchildren, Chandler Whipple, Taylor Whipple, Metts Whipple, Jennifer Fallin, Natalie Fallin, Mallory Fallin & Jay Fallin. Funeral services were held 4:00 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Linda Whipple gave the Eulogy & Sheila Elliott read a Congressional Proclaimation given to him by Congressman, Jack Kingston. A taped Selection of “You’ve Got To Stand For Something” was provided & Terri Bailey, Soloist, sang “Another Soldier Coming Home” & Ted Fallin, Soloist sang, “Seeing My Father In Me” & Lois Mills, Pianist provided soft music for the prelude & postlude. Burial followed in the Satilla Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Chandler Whipple, Taylor Whipple, Metts Whipple, Steve Parrish, Jay Fallin, Russell Durden & Tony Watson. Honorary pallbearers: Members of the Williams Sunday School Class & Members of the American Legion Post 18. In Lieu of flowers the family encourages memorials be made to the First Baptist Church or to the Gideons International. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
